According to Chinese newspaper Legal Daily, an iron ore project with annual output of 5 million mt of iron ore, run by Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Mining Co., has been rejected by China's Ministry of Environmental Protection.

The main reason for the rejection of the project located in Dajiazhuang, Hebei Province is that its environmental assessment survey did not cover all related respondents and that the amount of questionnaires were insufficient.   Hebei Iron and Steel Mining Co. needs the ministry's approval to start the construction on the project in question.
